McKinney Gas Equipment and Service was formed in 2023 after receiving Two Patents on our Burner System. This patented system allows for 50% fuel gas savings and 50% to 80% reduction of harmful emissions to the atmosphere.
Patent One is for the McKinney Burner.
Patent Two is for the Method that makes the McKinney Burner work effectively.
Our stack analysis service provides paperwork that shows the positive results. This documentation helps meet state and federal requirements. The McKinney Burner reduces raw methane and CO2 emissions from processing vessels in the field.

NMSU Field Study
New Mexico State University senior year engineering students completed a three day field test in April of 2022 on the McKinney Burner. The test compared the McKinney Burner to the leading existing burner that was used in the oil and gas field at the time. The NMSU test results showed the McKinney Burner saved 50% of the fuel gas, and 50% to 80% less emissions in to the atmosphere.
Our Burner System is the latest control technology available for oil and gas field application.
John McKinney Has Over 50 Years of Experience In The Oil And Gas Industry
• 1960-1964: Worked on Pulling Units, Welder in West Texas
• 1966-1968: Owned/operated contract pumping service in West Texas
• 1969-1974: Worked for El Paso Natural Gas Company operating gas wells in San Juan Basin, New Mexico
• 1974-1984: Worked for Northwest Pipeline Company, operating gas wells, dehydration specialist. Owned McKinney Welding Company in Southern Colorado
• 1984-1999: Worked for Williams Pipeline Company, Foreman, Superintendent of Operations in San Juan Basin, New Mexico
• 1999-1921: Retired. Worked for Independent Gas Companies operating gas wells as contractor in New Mexico and Colorado
• 2023 to Present: Owns McKinney Gas Equipment Company. Invented and patented the McKinney Burner System in San Juan Basin, New Mexico
